We keep a well-loved, high welfare flock of pet and rescue sheep on the Llyn Peninsular in North Wales. Our sheep are a part of the family and each is known by name. All our wool and makes are vegetarian-friendly as we do not breed or sell sheep for the meat market and our sheep live out their natural lives with us. I am a full-time mum and shepherdess. In my (none existent!) free time I make things from wool from the sheep in order to sustain them.

Animal Print Felt Keyring

These heart-shaped animal print felt keyrings are handmade from 100% wool from my flock. The wool is all hand-dyed or its natural colour, blended together and needle felted into the shape of a heart and then threaded through a length of strong waxed jute and fastened to a rustic colour keyring. Some of these keyrings are highly detailed and feature animal pattern designs. They are really lovely lightweight keyrings, not heavy or clunky. They will make sweet little gifts and practical keyrings and each sale directly supports my woolly flock.

Most of the wool used to make the keyrings comes from Mango the sheep who grows fantastic wool for needle felting. The felt wool heart keyrings are packaged in recycled tissue paper and posted as a large letter parcel. The jute and the metal keyrings are sourced from small British suppliers on Etsy.

Please view the photos there are 3 different unique keyrings to choose from each is priced according to the detail/time spent making it.

Please use the drop-down menu and select the keyring you would like to buy. If you are unsure which keyring is which please view the individual photos as these each say the name of that particular keyring.

Size: The wool heart has a diameter of approx 4.5cm at its widest.

List of keyrings to choose from

Dalmatian

Grey Zebra

Tiger

These hearts are made by a process called needle felting. Needle felting is a way of working and sculpting dry wool using special barbed needles. Repeated stabbing of the wool using these special needles causes the fibers to interlock and tangle and if you work it long enough you end up with a firm solid piece of felted wool. All my needle-felted items are very solidly felted with carefully added details. They are not flimsy soft needle felting they are worked until the felt is hard and firm. Crafted with a lot of love and care, never rushed and made properly they take a surprising amount of time to make and that’s not even including the time spent shearing the sheep, washing the wool, carding, dyeing or spinning the little tails! My needle-felted crafts are priced according to the amount of time spent making them.

Please note – This is NOT a toy. It has been created for display and decoration purposes only. It is made from small needle felted wool pieces and hairy textured wool and so could pose a hazard for babies or small children. Please DO NOT give to children under 3 years old.

Needle Felted Snail Decoration Gift

These wonderful whimsical needle felted snails are carefully handcrafted from real garden snail shells and natural sheeps wool from our flock. These two have been named Rocket and Basil and the price is for one snail. You can select whom you would like to rehome by using the drop-down menu and viewing the photos. Their shells are real snail shells collected from our garden. All empty upon finding so don’t worry no real-life snails have been evicted. I clean and varnish the shells before attaching the needle felted snail body. Each body is made from wool that is needle felted around a wire frame to give more strength to the snail. This is then inserted and glued into the snail shell and all the little details are carefully added. The eye tentacles are made from wire that is threaded and glued into the snail then wrapped in a tiny amount of wool. They can be gently bent to change their position/look. All the detailing on the snails body is made from tiny bits of wool felted on and ink. Each snail is highly detailed and very well made by hand. They make the most wonderful quirky gifts for gardeners and snail lovers and each will come wrapped up snuggly in a little cardboard box.

Please view the photos and select which snail you would like to buy from the drop-down menu. There are two to choose from and a selection of photos identifying them. Rocket is the snail with a brown/tan shell and brown/tan tentacles/antenna and Basil is the snail who is more grey color, his shell has a faded grey patch and his body and antenna/tentacles are more grey in colour. The sheep helping out in the photos is Sven the Icelandic ram.

Size: The snails body measures approx 5.5cm in length x 3cm tall to the top of his shell.

As mentioned above the snails body contains wire and the antenna/tentacles are also made from wire wrapped in wool – these can be gently and carefully manipulated to alter their position.

Each wee snail is made by a process called needle felting. Needle felting is a way of working and sculpting dry wool using special barbed needles. Repeated stabbing of the wool using these special needles causes the fibers to interlock and tangle and if you work it long enough you end up with a firm solid piece of felted wool.

Needle Felted Snail Bookmark

This gorgeous needle felted snail bookmark is carefully handcrafted from natural wool from our flock. He would make the most wonderful quirky gifts for gardeners and book lovers. His shell is a real snail shell that was found in our garden. The shell was empty upon finding it so don’t worry no snail was evicted. I clean and varnish the shells before attaching the needle felted snail body. The body is made from wool that is needle felted around a wire frame to give more strength to the snail. This is then inserted and glued into the snail shell and all the little details carefully added. The eye tentacles are made from wire wrapped in a tiny amount of wool. The last thing to add is the snails silvery trail that is made from handspun braided wool yarn – this forms the bookmark bit. You can sandwich the silvery trail between the book pages and the snail will happily sit upon the book cover. This snail is highly detailed and very well made by hand. He would make a wonderful unique special gift and will come wrapped up snuggly in a little cardboard box.

Please view the photos you will receive the very snail that is in the photos.

Size: The snails body measures approx 6cm in length. Total length with his silvery trail is approx 42cm.

This wee snail is made by a process called needle felting.

——————————————————–

A lot of time, care and love goes into all my items they are all individually made one at a time my hands and sheep – from caring for and shearing the sheep, washing the wool and crafting an item to the packaging and posting – hand (and sheep) made in the truest sense of the word.

Needle Felt Toad Bookmark

A wonderfully warty needle felt toad bookmark. Carefully handcrafted from natural wool from our flock he has been made in his entirety at our farm, starting life growing on Mango the sheeps back. Made from a single tangled blob of her wool that I have carefully sculptured into toad shape using special barbed needles. All the little details including every individual warty spot are made with wool and attached with wool too. He must be an immature toad for he still has a very long toad tail which you can use as a bookmark. All the wool used to make his mostly comes from Mango and a little is from other sheep in the flock. The wool has been handled only by me.. hand sheared, washed and then hand spun and hand dyed using a combination of natural plant and acid dyes. This toad bookmark is highly detailed and made with a lot of time, love and care. He is very special and would make the most wonderful unique gift for anyone who loves toads, frogs, witches, spells and books.

Please view the photos you will receive the same toad that is in the photos. He will come tucked up in a little cardboard gift box.

Skeleton Horse Unicorn Bookmark

This gorgeous skeleton horse unicorn bookmark is handmade from natural sheeps wool from our flock. Her legs and horn are made from pieces of drift wood that I’ve collected from local beaches on the Llyn Peninsular. Her body is sculptured from a blob of sheeps wool by using special barbed needles to felt and shape the wool. The wooden legs are inserted and glued into place to secure then. A little copper wire is threaded through and then wrapped in wool to form a poseable tail which is also where the ‘bookmark’ element begins, an extension of the tail made from handspun and braided natural wool – this can be sandwiched between the pages of a book. All the little details like eyes and the skeleton markings are added last by carefully needle-felting more wool on top of the base in the desired patterns. This little skeleton horse / unicorn would make a really unique special present. She is highly detailed and very well made with lots of care and love.

Please view the photos you will receive the same unicorn bookmark that is in the photos. She will come tucked up in a little cardboard gift box.

Needle Felted Spider Bookmark

This spooky needle felted spider bookmark is made by me at our home in wild North Wales using natural wool from my flock and a touch of magic. He would make wonderful a quirky gift for book lovers, witches and lovers of creepy crawlies. I love books and I love cobwebs and spiders so I decided to combine the two! This spider is hanging from a long braided wool thread which is made from handspun wool yarn that I have spun myself and then braided.. The cobweb/thread is the bookmark and can be sandwiched between the pages of a book. Buying one of these bookmarks is a great way to support and feed my flock this winter 🙂

Please view the photos, you will receive the exact same spider in the photos, luckily he did survive his photoshoot with the sheep! 🙂 He would make a special gift and will come nestled in a little cardboard box.

Size: Mr spider has a spherical body about 3cm in diameter. His length including the cobweb and legs is 55cm.

This bookmark is made by a process called needle felting. Needle felting is a way of working and sculpting dry wool using special barbed needles. Repeated stabbing of the wool using these special needles causes the fibers to interlock and tangle and if you work it long enough you end up with a firm solid piece of felted wool. The spun legs and braided bookmark are attached by threading them through the felt and needle felting over the ends so they are properly and securely attached. No glue is needed or used.

The inspiration for my needle-felted spiders comes from a love of cobwebs and spiders. Living in the countryside in an old stone house you can imagine many spiders choose to make their homes here too 🙂

Please note – This is NOT a toy. It has been created for display and decoration purposes only. It is made from small needle felted wool pieces and hairy textured wool and so could pose a hazard for babies or small children. Please DO NOT give to children under 3 years old.

Cute Felt Mouse Bookmark

These cute felt mouse bookmarks are carefully handcrafted from 100% natural wool from our flock every part of them including the long spun tails, eyes and whiskers are wool. Each little mouse is made by me at our home in wild North Wales using natural wool from my flock. They will make wonderful quirky gifts for book lovers. I love books and I love making needle felted mice so I decided to combine the two! Each mouse has a long braided tail which is made from handspun wool yarn that I have spun and dyed myself.. Buying one of these bookmarks is a great way to support and feed my flock this winter 🙂 More details on each bookmark below.

There are two mice bookmarks to choose from. One is a lovely mousey grey colour and the other is a lovely chocolate brown. Their long tails are the actual bookmark, you can sandwich their tails between the book pages and the mouse will happily sit upon the book cover. They make wonderful unique special gifts and each will come wrapped up snuggly in a little cardboard box.

Please view the photos and select which mouse bookmark you would like from the drop-down menu there are just 2 to choose from.

Size: The mice themselves measure approx 6-7cm length. Total length with their tails is approx 45cm.

These felted wool mouse figurines are made by a process called needle felting. Needle felting is a way of working and sculpting dry wool using special barbed needles. Repeated stabbing of the wool using these special needled causes the fibers to interlock and tangle and if you work it long enough you end up with a firm solid piece of felted wool.

The inspiration for these felted wool mouse figurines came from the real little things. Living in the countryside in an old stone house we are very close to nature and so hearing mice within the old stone walls and attic at night is something that happens from time to time. One winter though I was sat up late needle felting when a mouse ran across my feet! This was the first time we ever had mice find a way from within the walls into the home. More mice naturally followed and caused us some trouble for a little while. That was when I had the inspiration to start making needle-felted mice – and I can assure you these little critters are just as sweet and far less messy than their real-life counterparts!

Please note – This is NOT a toy. It has been created for display and decoration purposes only. It is made from small needle felted wool pieces and hairy textured wool and so could pose a hazard for babies or small children. Please DO NOT give to children under 3 years old.

——————————————————–
