A little family of felted wool mouse figurines.

Meet ‘The Grey’s’ a family of 4 gorgeous wee mice. Carefully handcrafted from 100% natural wool from our flock every part of them including the spun tails, eyes and wiskers are wool. Each little mouse is made by me at our home in wild North Wales. These mice are small but mighty detailed and mighty cute. They are made from wonderful wirey wool that was specifically chosen for its hairy texture and fabulously mousey colour. These little guys are looking for a cosy nook or rustic shelf to move into. They come in their own little box complete with soft moss and autumnal treasures they would make a wonderful special gift.

These felted wool mouse figurines are made by a process called needle felting. Needle felting is a way of working and sculpting dry wool using special barbed needles. Repeated stabbing of the wool using these special needled causes the fibers to interlock and tangle and if you work it long enough you end up with a firm solid piece of felted wool.

The inspiration for these felted wool mouse figurines came from the real little things. Living in the countryside in an old stone house we are very close to nature and so hearing mice within the old stone walls and attic at night is something that happens from time to time. One winter though I was sat up late needle felting when a mouse ran across my feet! This was the first time we ever had mice find a way from within the walls into the home. More mice naturally followed and caused us some trouble for a little while. That was when I had the inspiration to start making needle-felted mice – and I can assure you these little critters are just as sweet and far less messy than their real-life counterparts!

This listing is for ALL 4 mice in the photos they come as a family.

Size – Felted wool mouse figurines ‘The Grey’s’ – Adult mice are approx 5.5cm high and the little baby mice are around 4cm tall. Size can vary slightly either way as each mouse is handmade and slightly different.

All my needle-felted items are very solidly felted with carefully added details. They are not flimsy soft needle felting they are worked until the felt is hard and firm. Crafted with a lot of love and care, never rushed and made properly they take a surprising amount of time to make and that’s not even including the time spent shearing the sheep, washing the wool, carding, dyeing or spinning the little tails!

Please note – This is NOT a toy. It has been created for display and decoration purposes only. It is made from small needle felted wool pieces and hairy textured wool and so could pose a hazard for babies or small children. Please DO NOT give to children under 3 years old.

A lot of time, care and love goes into all my items they are all individually made one at a time my hands and sheep – from caring for and shearing the sheep, washing the wool and crafting an item to the packaging and posting – hand (and sheep) made in the truest sense of the word.

We keep a well-loved, high welfare flock of pet and rescue sheep on the Llyn Peninsular in North Wales. Our sheep are a part of the family and each is known by name. All our wool and makes are vegetarian-friendly as we do not breed or sell sheep for the meat market and our sheep live out their natural lives with us. I am a full-time mum and shepherdess. In my (none existent!) free time I make things from wool from the sheep in order to sustain them.

Handmade Needle Felted Mouse – Scottish Highland Autumn Decoration

A little needle felted mouse decoration. These hairy ginger mice are Highland mice they are made with a mixture of wool and Highland cow hair. The Highland cow hair gives them a wonderful fiery ginger color and coarse hairy texture. Every part of them even the eyes and the tail are carefully made at our farm by my own hands, no two mice are ever exactly the same. This particular rustic pair are called Russel and Rory. They look very sweet sitting in a hearth or on a shelf or mantlepiece, especially in a cottage or farmhouse setting. They would make a lovely ususal gift for anyone and especially mice and Highland cow fans!

Russel and Rory do vary ever so slightly in size with Russel being slightly shorter and rounder and Rory slimmer and taller.

All my mice are very solidly felted with carefully added details. The Highland cow hair is very hairy and wild and gives the mice a lovely rough texture. Each mouse takes over 2 hours to make at the felting stage. That is not including the time spent shearing the sheep, washing the wool, carding, dyeing or spinning the little mouse tails!

The inspiration for these needle-felted mice came from the real little things. Living in the countryside in an old stone house we are very close to nature and so hearing mice within the old stone walls and attic at night is something that happens from time to time.
Size – Mice are approx 6cm high. Size can vary slightly either way as each mouse is handmade and slightly different.

All my needle-felted items are very solidly felted with carefully added details. They are crafted with a lot of love and care.
Cheeky little mouse familiars. Brought to life with wool and Magic – quite literally as the main wool used to make them comes from Magic the sheep! Every part of them even the eyes and the tail are made from hand-dyed and carefully handspun wool – made entirety at our farm by my own hands, no two mice are ever exactly the same. This particular pair are called Soot and Cinder. They look very sweet sitting in a hearth or on a shelf or mantlepiece, especially in a cottage or farmhouse setting and make lovely unusual little gifts. The mice are completely natural, biodegradable and all the wool comes from my own fiber sheep. A mix of different wool has been used in their creation from several of my own sheep but their actual bodies are made using wool from Magic (pictured).

Please select which mouse you would like from the drop-down menu (Soot or Cinder). Each is presented in a simple card gift box – the perfect present for someone or perhaps for yourself!

Sweet little wool mouse individually handcrafted from natural Herdwick wool, including the eyes and the tail which is made from hand-dyed and carefully handspun wool – made in their entirety at our farm by my own hands. No two mice are ever exactly the same. They look very at home sitting on a shelf or mantlepiece and make wonderful little gifts. Completely natural, biodegradable and all the wool comes from my own fiber sheep. A mix of different breed wool has been used in their creation but this particular mouse’s body is made from wonderful textured Herdwick wool from Mani our Herdwick ram!

This listing is for the exact little mouse in the first 7 photos. He is presented in a simple card gift box – the perfect present for someone or perhaps for yourself!

Mice do vary ever so slightly in size with some being shorter and rounder and others slimmer and taller which just makes them look all perfectly unique.

Size – My needle felted mice measure between 5-6cm high and 2-3cm wide at the base – this in not including the length of the tails.

All my mice are very solidly felted with carefully added details. As such, each mouse takes approximately 1.5 – 2 hours to make at the felting stage. That is not including the time spent shearing the sheep, washing the wool, carding, dyeing or spinning the little mouse tails!

The inspiration for these needle felted mice came from the real little things. That was when I had the inspiration to start making needle felted mice – and I can assure you these little critters are just as sweet and far less messy than their real-life counterparts!

Please note – This is NOT a toy. It has been created for display and decoration purposes only. It is made from small needle felted pieces and hairy textured wool and so could pose a hazard for babies or small children.

——————————————————–

A lot of time, care and love go into all my items they are all individually made one at a time by just 1 pair of hands – from caring for and shearing the sheep, washing the wool and crafting an item to the packaging and posting – handmade in the truest sense of the word.

Any questions just send me a message.

Postage is with Royal Mail 2nd class and mice are dispatched within 1-5 working days. All items are presented in a simple attractive recyclable gift box -the cost for this and packaging has been factored into any postage cost.

OVERSEAS BUYERS will incur an extra postage charge which may vary depending on location.

Many people discard the belly wool from fleeces it is generally considered useless however I really hate wasting anything and so Humphrey's belly wool has been put to good use in my needle felting!

They look very sweet sitting on a shelf or mantlepiece, especially in a cottage or farmhouse setting, and make lovely unusual little gifts. Completely natural, biodegradable, kind to sheep and the planet. A mix of different wool has been used in their creation but this particular mouse's body is made from a beautiful brown/grey wool from Smudge.

Sweet little mouse individually handcrafted from undyed natural mousey grey wool. Even the eyes are pure wool and his tail is made from carefully handspun wool – this mouse is made entirety at our farm by my own hands. No two mice are ever exactly the same. They look very sweet sitting on a shelf or mantlepiece, especially in a cottage or farmhouse setting, and make lovely unusual little gifts. Completely natural, biodegradable, kind to sheep and the planet. A mix of different wool has been used in their creation but this particular mouse’s body is made from a beautiful brown/grey wool from Smudge.

This listing is for the exact mouse in the first 5 photos. She is presented in a simple card gift box – the perfect present for someone or perhaps for yourself!
