Circular Peg loom Wool Seat Cover ‘Sandy’ – Natural Grey – Handmade in Wales

£18.00

This sweet little circular peg loom seat cover has been made using part of Sandy’s fleece (pictured). It is soft and warm to the touch and is made up of the most beautiful natural grey colours. It is small in size just like little Sandy who grew the wool used to make it. I made this item in 2019 when I attended the Conwy Feast and demonstrated weaving. It was part of a matching pair one of which sold, this one did not and so I had intended to make another to match this one and list them as a pair but I never made time. So after being stored away for the last 2 years I am offering this little piece for sale at a slightly reduced price in the hopes it will be absolutely perfect for someone out there who has a sweet little chair upon which to place it.

Description

Handwoven circular peg loom wool seat cover made from Sandy’s fleece…

This sweet little circular peg loom seat cover has been made using part of Sandy’s fleece (pictured). It is soft and warm to the touch and is made up of the most beautiful natural grey colours. It is small in size just like little Sandy who grew the wool used to make it. I made this item in 2019 when I attended the Conwy Feast and demonstrated weaving. It was part of a matching pair one of which sold, this one did not and so I had intended to make another to match this one and list them as a pair but I never made time. So I have finally decided to offer this lone seat cover for sale at a reduced price in the hopes it will be perfect for someone out there who has a sweet little chair upon which to place it.

This seat cover is smaller than most of the seat covers I make and so perhaps best suited to a child’s chair or a doll chair (or someone with very small bum!)

Sadly Sandy died in May 2021 so even if I wanted to I couldn’t make another like this so to me this is a very special little seat cover and I hope it will find a home where it will be loved and treasured.

This item was handwoven on my peg loom, it is made from natural wool and the warp I used is natural jute twine.

Dimensions: Approx diameter is 33-34cm

Wool texture: The feel of this fleece is medium-soft shetland wool.

Colour: Light and darker brown-grey tones.

VM(aka hay/grass seeds etc): You may find the odd wisp of hay or grass seed within the fleece but they are very few and only add to the naturalness of this handmade piece.

If you have any questions or queries at all please send me a message I will be happy to help.

This listing is for 1 seat cover the same one as in the photos. Please note in some photos it is pictured with a small rug, this is not included in the price but is available to buy on a separate listing.

We keep a well-loved, high welfare, colourful flock of sheep on the Llyn Peninsular in North Wales. Our sheep are a part of the family and each is known by name. All our wool and makes are vegetarian-friendly as we do not breed or sell sheep into the food chain and our sheep live out their natural lives with us. I am a fulltime mum and slave to sheep! In my (none existent!) free time I make things from wool from the sheep in order to sustain them.
