Handcrafted Collectable Needle Felted Unicorn Halloween Decoration ‘Pumpkin’

This is Pumpkin the rather unusual Unicorn she is handmade from felted wool and heaps of Halloween magic – no rainbows here!

As unicorns go Pumpkin is more of a pony package, she is a little on the round size with super stocky little legs. She is completely made from wool and wood with a little spiral horn that is an actual top from a tiny pumpkin grown in our garden. As you may have gathered her design is based upon a pumpkin!

She is made with wool from Hagrid and Mango the sheep. She was made by me and the sheep on our farm in North Wales with a process called needle felting. Hagrid’s super curly fleece became the mane and tail and Mango’s fleeces was used to build her head and body and also for the little pieces of yarn in her made and tail. To create coloured wool the white fleeces were washed and then popped in a large bubbling pan, a little magic dye was added and ‘poof’ the fleece turned into lovely Autumnal oranges and greens!

All Pumpkin’s facial features and ears are very carefully needle felted by hand, the made and tail are also attached by needle felting. Her wooden legs are made from driftwood gathered from Criccieth and Nant Gwythern beaches tand are attached with wool and a tiny amount of glue. The tail contains a small wire which can be gently adjusted to position her tail differently if you so wish.

Pumpkin is free-standing on her very sturdy wee legs and looks super on a bookshelf or mantlepiece. She feels very at home at this time of year and would make a fantastic unusual collectable gift. Perfect for any and all Unicorn fans and pumpkin lovers too!

This listing is for the exact unicorn pictured in the photos. Please note in some photos she is pictured with other spooky unicorns which are not included in the price.

She is presented in a cardboard gift box – a perfect present for someone or perhaps for yourself!

Size – Pumpkin – Approx 17cm nose to bum in length 22cm including the fluffy tail. 13cm high from  base of leg to ear tip (not including the mane and horn). Her girth is around 14cm – shes a chunkier larger unicorn than my usual unicorns.

Please noteThis is NOT a toy. It has been created for display and decoration purposes only. It is made from small needle felted wool pieces and hairy textured wool and so could pose a hazard for babies or small children. Please DO NOT give to children under 3 years old.

All my needle-felted items are very solidly felted with carefully added details. They are crafted with a lot of love and care. They are not rushed so they take a surprising amount of time to make not including the time spent shearing the sheep, washing the wool, carding, dyeing or spinning the little legs!

——————————————————–

A lot of time, care and love go into all my items they are all individually made one at a time by just 1 pair of hands – from caring for and shearing the sheep, washing the wool and crafting an item to the packaging and posting – handmade in the truest sense of the word.

We keep a well-loved, high welfare flock of pet and rescue sheep on the Llyn Peninsular in North Wales. Our sheep are a part of the family and each is known by name. All our wool and makes are vegetarian-friendly as we do not breed or sell sheep for the meat market and our sheep live out their natural lives with us. I am a full-time mum and shepherdess. In my (none existent!) free time I make things from wool from the sheep in order to sustain them.
