Handmade Balwen Ram Decoration

A handsome Balwen ram decoration. This little Balwen sheep is made by a process called needle felting. He is made from 100% natural wool with handspun wool dangly legs, poseable horns and a gorgeous fluffy fleece. He hangs from a length of natural jute twine and his horns are made from copper wire that is wrapped in wool and cotton. A perfect gift for anyone who is a fan of the Balwen breed or just loves sheep! The wool used in his creation all comes from my own flock from a few different sheep. His fluffy fleece is made from the darker neck wool from one of my favourites – Xena who you can see in the photos. I shear all our sheep myself with traditional blade shears and all the fleeces are processed by my hand here at our home.

This listing is for the very same sheep in the photos. He will be sent in a little cardboard gift box and would make a lovely pressie!

Size – Balwen sheep is approx 11cm in length nose to tail and 7.5cm high. His total hanging length with string is approx 20cm

This listing and price is for 1 single item the Balwen Ram. Other sheep and dogs seen in some photos are available on separate listings.

I always make every effort to show the true colours of items in my photos and the website photos are never filtered but sometimes colours may vary due to different weather conditions, monitor settings and lighting.

All my needle-felted items are very solidly felted with carefully added details. They are crafted with a lot of love and care. They are not rushed so they take a surprising amount of time to make not including the time spent shearing the sheep, washing the wool, carding, dyeing or spinning the little legs!

Please noteThis is NOT a toy. It has been created for display and decoration purposes only. It is made from small needle felted wool pieces and hairy textured wool and the horns have a copper wire base and so could pose a hazard for babies or small children. Please DO NOT give to children under 3 years old.

A lot of time, care and love go into all my items they are all individually made one at a time by just 1 pair of hands – from caring for and shearing the sheep, washing the wool and crafting an item to the packaging and posting – handmade in the truest sense of the word.

We keep a well-loved, high welfare flock of pet and rescue sheep on the Llyn Peninsular in North Wales. Our sheep are a part of the family and each is known by name. All our wool and makes are vegetarian-friendly as we do not breed or sell sheep for the meat market and our sheep live out their natural lives with us. I am a full-time mum and shepherdess. In my (none existent!) free time I make things from wool from the sheep in order to sustain them.
