Wool Heart Herdwick Keyring – Handmade with natural fleece from Mani the sheep – Needle Felted

£5.45

Wool Heart Herdwick Keyring – Needle felted keyring made from rough textured Herdwick fleece from Mani!

These natural Herdwick keyrings are made from 100% wool that I have needle felted into the shape of a heart and then threaded through a length of strong waxed jute twine and fastened to a keyring. They are lovely and lightweight keyrings, not heavy or clunky. Each keyring comes with a little picture of Mani himself and is packaged in recycled tissue paper. They make sweet little gifts and practical keyrings and each sale supports my woolly flock. The heart itself is natural, biodegradable, and made from Herdwick wool from Mani. I shear all our sheep myself with traditional blade shears and all the fleeces are processed by hand here at our home.

Keyring dimensions: The wool heart has a diameter of approx 4.5cm at its widest. The whole length including the keyring, string, and heart is approx 11cm.

Mani is a Herdwick ram he has a pretty grey fleece with an incredible rough texture. The texture comes from the primitive kemp hairs that keep the Herdwick sheep warm and dry in the wild winters on the hills. Their fleeces are incredibly durable and perfect for making woven rugs and for needle felting.

Keyring dimensions: The wool heart has a diameter of approx 4.5cm at its widest. The whole length including the keyring, string and heart is approx 11cm. The photo is an example and may not be the exact keyring you will receive therefore it may vary ever so slightly.

The price is for 1 keyring made to the same size and with the same wool as the one in the photos. Please note as it is individually handmade and Mani’s fleece does vary a little no two hearts are ever quite the same – as is the beauty of handmade items.

We keep a well-loved, high welfare flock of pet and rescue sheep on the Llyn Peninsular in North Wales. Our sheep are a part of the family and each is known by name. All our wool and makes are vegetarian-friendly as we do not breed or sell sheep for the meat market and our sheep live out their natural lives with us. I am a full-time mum and shepherdess. In my (none existent!) free time I make things from wool from the sheep in order to sustain them.
