Handmade Large Felted Fleece Seat Pad Tatty & Florence

This beautiful large seat pad has been made using part of Tatty and Florence’s 2022 fleeces. It is pretty cream and grey in colour and the gorgeous long curly locks have a natural shine to them. This has been made by carefully placing each individual lock from Tatty and Flo’s fleeces in a circular shape and then felted by hand. The white/cream and a few light grey locks are from Flo’s fleece and the grey locks are from Tatty. Flo and Tatty are half-sisters they share the same dad and their fleeces are a similar structure with stunning long curly and wavy locks that have a natural shiny appearance. The felt underside is thick, soft and smooth and with handspun wool detail and Tatty and Florence’s (shortened) names needle felted on as a special touch. The felt is made from carded wool from other sheep – Tawny, Mochi, Campion and Clover. This is a completely handmade product every element has been created by myself and Tatty, Florence and the flock at our farm in Wales. The sale of it directly sustains the sheep and enables them to live happy lives here munching away growing beautiful wool. T

Tatty and Florence’s fleece seat pad is very pretty and fancy looking. It is a large size and a bit of a heavyweight as seat pads go so could easily be used on an armchair or draped on a sofa. It would make a pretty little circular rug too.

Size: Approx 66-70 cm in diameter measuring on the fleece top side. The felted area is approx 41cm in diameter – the locks will drape down when placed on a kitchen chair or stool.

Wool texture: The feel of this fleece is soft.

Colour: Natural white/cream and light warm greys.

Hair loss: Very little if any.

VM(aka hay/grass seeds etc): You may find the odd wisp of hay or grass seed from the Welsh Hillside within the fleece and felt. This is a natural handmade item and I have done my best to remove them.

All felted fleeces moult or shed to some degree some more than others. With this particular piece that is minimal.

If you have any questions or queries at all please send me a message I will be happy to help.

We keep a well-loved, high welfare flock of pet and rescue sheep on the Llyn Peninsular in North Wales. Our sheep are a part of the family and each is known by name. All our wool and makes are vegetarian-friendly as we do not breed or sell sheep for the meat market and our sheep live out their natural lives with us. I am a full-time mum and shepherdess. In my (none existent!) free time I make things from wool from the sheep in order to sustain them.
